I have been asked to do my first supplement review!  And guess what it’s a testosterone booster!  And I am excited! Yes I know the name Libidostack is geared towards men!  So that’s why this review is for the husbands, boyfriends, or any men readers! When most people hear hormonal imbalance, they think testosterone and estrogen. It’s just natural to think of the sexual hormones immediately. (Hormonal imbalance emcompasses so much more than just these hormones, so you can read about it here and here and here and I promise lastly here.)  For this testosterone booster review, I asked 4 male friends and 2 female friends (and myself) to try it out for 2 weeks.  (Males primarily because the supplement is specifically for men and women because why not try it and see what happens!)

What does testosterone do in our bodies?

This supplement I am reviewing today, Libidostack, is geared towards increasing testosterone. Testosterone is responsible in men (and women) for giving us the feeling of libido or sexual drive.  This hormone has a correlation with another hormone called Human Growth Hormone or HgH.  (This hormone has gotten press after baseball players were taking it and it was considered illegal.  HgH is NOT an anabolic steroid which is contradictory to how it is presented.)  HgH is responsible for giving us the feeling of being invincible when we are children.  It helps us repair damaged tissue as quickly as possible.  It naturally decreases as we age, but we can further decrease (or increase) our natural production with our lifestyle habits.  The worst thing we can do for our production of HgH is eat a diet primarily of carbohydrates and SUGARS.  Consuming high amounts of these sugars (eg. bread, pasta, added sugar) regularly makes our pancreas secrete excessive amounts of insulin.  When our insulin levels shoot up (after eating a bunch of sugar) on a consistent basis, HgH production goes down.  This is when we cannot repair our body’s as easily (from injuries or inflammation in general).  When Hgh production is down, testosterone also goes down.

In summary, when you eat high amounts of carbohydrates and sugars, your testosterone will GO DOWN over time.

Your testosterone levels also have an inverse relationship with cortisol, meaning when your body produces a lot of cortisol you will produce less testosterone.  Cortisol is deemed the stress hormone.

What does having low testosterone contribute to?

When testosterone levels drop too low, problems such as erectile dysfunction and infertility arise.  Other problems include:

decreased libido

depression

lack of energy

decreased height

decreased strength

less pleasurable erections

decrease in ejaculate

shrinking testicles

unable to achieve an erection

unable to maintain an erection

As you can see, testosterone is a very important hormone that controls sexual function.  But it is also very important for muscular and bone strength, and VIGOR.

What can you do to increase your testosterone?

First and foremost, the best route to increase your testosterone is to limit sugars in your diet and lift heavy weights. Limiting sugar will lower your pancreas’s release of insulin and therefore maintain testosterone.  Lifting heavy weights is another way to increase testosterone.

You can also take an herbal testosterone booster, like Libidostack.  Certain herbs have the ability to assist your body in producing more of this hormone.  Many of these herbs have been used for hundreds of years in different cultures around the world.  There are many brands out there, when you peruse the aisles of drug stores and liquor stores.  So the question is, what makes Libidostack different?

Libidostack claims to have a unique blend of the following herbs:

 1. Tong Kat Ali  –  This herb is most well-known in Malaysia.  Having been to Malaysia myself many times, I can attest to all the liquor stores selling Tong Kat Ali drinks.  Men want it there.  Because it has been studied and shown to increase testosterone levels.  When men take this herb, they see increases in libido and in muscle mass.Tongkat Ali
 2. Tribulus Terrestris – Tribulus is very popular among the bodybuilding community.  This herb is seen to increase Luteinizing Hormone levels (which is a hormone secreted by the pituitary gland) that then increases testosterone production.  So this herb works on the step before your testicles produce the test.  One study showed that this herb can raise testosterone by up to 30-50%!  It is a very good complement to Tong Kat Ali.Tribulus Terrestris
 3. Horny Goat Weed – Also known as Epimedium, this herb is popular in Eastern Asia and is used as an aphrodisiac and for fatigue.  It works by increasing Nitric Oxide production, which increases blood flow.Horny Goat Weed
 4. Panax Ginseng – This herb is seen as useful for erectile dysfunction when taken on a daily basis.  It has also shown to improve cognitive function.Panax Ginseng
 5. Cordyceps Sinensis – This fungus was discovered in Tibet and proves to increase energy levels and decrease impotence.  This herb has also been shown to have an impact upon women. (Hence why we are testing this on some women, and myself!)Cordyceps Sinensis

So what were the results from my friends?

At the beginning of this post, I had mentioned that I had 4 male friends and 2 female friends put this product to the test. (I am in my early 30’s so all of my friends are in the 28-37 range.)  Pre-product testing, I had each friend give me on a scale of 0-10 what their libido was in general (as libido is a good indicator of testosterone).  I then had them use this scale again after each pill was taken.  We took the pills as according to the box instructions, which is 1 pill every 3 days.  I also had everyone write down any symptoms they may have felt after taking the pills.  Below are the averages.

As you can see, the herbs seem to have an accumulative effect in men.  It would be very interesting to see how the herbs would increase the actual testosterone numbers (but alas I do not have a lab).  Women do not seem to see the same effects as men.  If anything, there may be some added energy.

Yay or Nay?

I give this product a 10 out of 10 YAY for men… and a NAY for women.  So men try it out, and women get it for your men!  ha!
